2012 Pinot Noir,  La Encantada Vineyard, Sta. Rita Hills

Like a pillow-top with silk sheets, the mouth-feel is smooth and luxurious, offering a warm embrace with a firm base.  The nose has strawberries and cherries with hints of cola and tart rhubarb.  Red current, black cherry, and root beer shift to strawberry, sage, and thyme on the mid-palate. The finish is moderate length. Produced and bottled for Denarius Wealth Management by Grunau Wines.  La Encantada Vineyard, a 100-acre vineyard and the first certified organic vineyard in Santa Barbara County, is situated at the cooler western edge of the Sta. Rita Hills AVA where it is often blanketed by fog and known for producing exceptional Pinot Noir.

2010 Chateau Brulesecaille, Cotes de Bourg, Cru Bourgeois

Deep ruby-purple. Sexy, aromatic nose, featuring a plush mix of ripe red cherry, cassis, Asian spices, and sandalwood. Broad, sweet, and dense on entry, then slightly tougher and more briery in the mid-palate, with chewy flavors of black fruits, licorice, and dried herbs accented by superb mineral persistence. This is a superb effort from M. Rodet, a Brulesécaille that's drinking surprisingly well now after two hours of aeration, but which will continue to improve over the next two decades. Gold Medal in Bordeaux.

2013 Robert Mondavi Fume Blanc

A substantial, mouth-filling wine with notable richness, yet it’s teeming with freshness and energy. It strikes a beautiful, Sancerre-like balance of citrusy fruit and herbal flavors –citrus, honeydew, lemon verbena -with cleansing minerality and racy acidity. There’s a captivating sense of lift on the palate with a lithe, creamy underpinning that carries through the long, elegant finish.
